The Lathe chuck spigot:

has been designed to be compatible with your woodlathe chuck you should order the same thread as your existing lathe. When your turned piece has been prepared for carving then simply unscrew the chuck (with the article attached) from the lathe and screw onto the Rotomount and commence carving.

 If your thread size is not here please contact us to produce it for you. Blank spigots are also available for you to cut your own thread.

The screw chuck:

is for the free form carvers, simply drill an 8mm hole in the base of the piece and wind the carving down firmly onto the chuck head. If you wish to increase the surface mounting area cut a disc of 12mm (1/2”) plywood drill an 8mm hole in the centre and screw onto the chuck before your carving is applied. 

The 180mm faceplate:

 has a number of purposes, firstly as a large base to screw a block of wood or stone too while carving. Secondly a small vice maybe bolted to it and model parts or other engineering parts fitted so that they may be rotated to the required angle. This can be a great benefit when drilling or milling small objects at peculiar angles.
